Since being in school for over 13 years, I have learned my best and worse classes. My best class tends to be math because numbers just seem to click when inside my head. I just understand math because there are multiple ways of finding the answer to a problem. My worse class is English because of the writing of essays. I tend to write essays in the way I talk and the way I talk is broken English. I choose to work my hardest on English because you need English in your life.

Setting up an essay can be pretty difficult for some students to understand. way to set up an essay can be by using the preparation method. A student needs to do pre-writing to get some of their ideas out and to get ideas flowing. Using the ideas, create two to four main points for their thesis and to get their point across. Then, the student should draft a paper and have it revised at least two times to make sure most of the mistakes are gone.

Since a little girl, I have always been bad at writing. I always have to choice goals to help my writing improve, but it never works. So, this time I just want to make a goal to just grow as a proud writer and to be able to be proud of my work. Ever piece of work I have turned in is not my strongest and I get nervous when turning it in. I really just want to gain self-confidence from fixing my grammar to really become creative with my writing.

Applying to college was the first step of transitioning into college. Entering college with a plan to take on the biggest transition in life; high school to college. There were multiple ways to take charge of this transition, but not all ways are effective. One change I had to make was my studying habits, because in high school studying was only a maximum of at least 2 and a half hours long. In college memorizing or even just read straight through everything would not work. Instead of studying the information, I would have to start to think more into the text or the lecture given by the professor. Another way to take charge, is making sure my social life and school work stayed at a balance. If my social life started to drop then maybe my feelings would not be the same. If my school work started to drop then I would be failing out of my first semester of college.

My transition of writing has always been a sticky situation, even since my 7th grade year of middle school. I have learned that writing was not for me, but I had to figure out why. Unfortunately, I learned to just deal with writing and to try to improve as best as I could with every type of writing. Now, that I am enrolled in University of Writing 150, I feel as if I have made progress in my writing. I can say that I am proud of the essays I have turned in this far through the semester.
Essay one I could say I did not think I was going to do pretty well on. Essay one I turned out to receive a 90% and an overall score of 3 to pass. This surprised me because I felt as if I would have too many fragments, grammar mistakes, and that my word count would be too much. With the help of the mandatory study hall, I reread my essay over a couple of times and saw every mistake that needed to be fix. Now with essay two, it was much easier for me to write and correct because I know the steps of the writing process now. For this essay I mostly looked over my comma slices and using the word you a lot.
